The Colour of Spring was the transition album between the old Talk Talk (sort of like a literate Duran Duran) and the new Talk Talk (jazz inflected post rock innovators).
The Colour of Spring had elements of both containing chart-ready hits ('Life Is What You Make It', 'Living In Another World') but being much more organic in nature and innovative than their synth driven early work.
Absolutely essential.
