Maria Callas only appeared in one film – Pier Paolo Pasolini’s 1969 Medea. It displayed her purely as an actress, but over recent decades her soprano voice has been heard on a number of other movie soundtracks, heightening emotion and generating drama. The LP Maria Callas: From Studio to Screen is a collection of operatic arias and scenes that have enlivened more than a dozen films.
