Gerry Mulligan & Chet Baker - Quartet

This Special edition of the debut Gerry Mulligan - Chet Baker Quartet 10" LP, includes 9
additional tracks from the same sessions and features Bob Whitlock, Carson Smith,
Carson Smith on bass (alternating between sessions) and Chico Hamilton on drums.

When these recordings were made, Gerry Mulligan, at the age of 25, already had a
decade of professional work as a musician under his belt.
Chet Baker was the perfect
complement to Mulligan's playing and writing style.
When Mulligan was offered the
opportunity to form his own quartet for a regular gig, he decided to give Baker a call.

Bassist Bob Whitlock and drummer Chico Hamilton rounded out what would become
the most celebrated piano-less quartet of all time
