Andrew Bird - The Mysterious Production Of Eggs (20Th Anniversary Edition)

Chicago-based multi-instrumentalist Andrew Bird has been one of the most successful singer-songwriters in his native America since at least his hit album "Armchair Apocrypha" (2007).
Since then, in addition to numerous singles and EPs, he has released twelve albums, including his now finally reissued album "Mysterious Production Of Eggs.
"

Originally released in 2005 on Righteous Babe Records, this work, produced by David Boucher (among others Randy Newman), features the classically trained violinist moving at the elaborate compositional interface between sparsely instrumented indie folk and sophisticatedly arranged chamber pop.

The result is 14 great, mostly laid-back and occasionally ethereal tracks that showcase him and his two companions Kevin O'Donnell (drums, percussion) and Nora O'Connor (harmonic vocals) at their peak performance level.

Also fascinating in this context is the significantly more opulent re-recording of "Skin Is, My" (which can be found as "Skin" on the previous album "Weather Systems" (2003)).
The cover artwork is by the well-known graphic artist/poster designer Jay Ryan (among others, Shellac, Flaming Lips, Melvins).
